There are many approaches to treating hair loss and receding hairlines, and at Ziering Medical our team of hair restoration experts have a vast toolkit that extends beyond surgical procedures and transplants. This is especially applicable to those whose hair loss levels have not reached a point where hair transplants are warranted.
At Ziering, we utilize many technologies and methods to achieve optimum hair restoration for our patients. This includes Microscopically Dissected Elliptical Excision (MDEE) or strip harvest procedures, which remains a good choice for some patients because this type of surgery can deliver the highest number of yield in terms of grafts per session.

These methods include cutting edge laser technology that can promote hair growth and scalp health, such as KeraLase™ treatments that combine laser therapy with hair growth serums for even better results. Scarring alopecia is a category of hair loss disorders that may comprise up to 3% of hair loss patients. Also known as cicatricial alopecia, it occurs in otherwise healthy men and women regardless of age. There are many forms of scarring alopecia, their shared feature is a potentially permanent and irreversible destruction of hair follicles, which is replaced with scar tissue (hence the name). Thankfully, due to the Ziering Medical team’s expertise, a diagnosis of scarring alopecia does not close the door on hair restoration. In the case of patients who are not suited for surgery, we have a variety of non-surgical treatments that have been proven to help with scarring alopecia. These include a custom combination of Scalp Micropigmentation to camouflage thinning or balding patches and Z-Factors to stimulate scalp and follicle regeneration. (more…)
