Save your cells from aging

INTRODUCING THE FUTURE OF FOLLICLE STEM CELL THERAPEUTICS

We’re on the cusp of an anti-aging revolution, and it’s drastically changing how we heal our bodies and treat illness. But there’s a risk that today’s generations will miss out because these emerging treatments are only as powerful as the cells that are used. Preserving your own younger cells with Acorn is the first step you can take in preparing for the future of regenerative medicine.

With Acorn, we collect cells via plucked hair follicles and cryogenically freeze them. This stops the cells from aging, giving you a collection of your own younger cells to use in upcoming treatment. So how can we access our best cells? Introducing Acorn live cell cryopreservation: the world’s first non-invasive, follicle-based cell preservation solution.

WHY THE HAIR FOLLICLE?

The average person has roughly 100,000 hair follicles. They can be easily accessed non-invasively, making them an ideal cell source for regenerative medicine. The follicle contains cells that have the ability to help rejuvenate skin, regrow hair, repair tissues, and even be leveraged in other stem cell applications.

But the clock is ticking. As we age, so do our cells, and over time they lose their regenerative potential. When it comes to regenerative treatments, younger cells can provide more optimal results.

This is why it’s so important to preserve cells ahead of the effects of aging.
Book your hair regeneration consultation with Ziering Medical today and enjoy the peace of mind of knowing that you have a bank of viable, young stem cells available to help you combat your hair loss down the road.

Acorn live cell preservation
The first non-invasive solution to preserve your younger follicle cells for use in regenerative medicine.

Harvest your best cells

Your hair follicles are plucked and collected in a non-invasive procedure, accessible at any age.

Confirm their viability

Cells are counted and analyzed for viability, confirming that you'll have enough cells for storage.

Cryogenically freeze them

We separate your cells into multiple vials and freeze them at -196° Celsius to stop the effects of aging.

Access them in the future

Your cells are safely stored and ready to access for applicable treatments.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The average person has roughly 100,000 hair follicles on their head, and Acorn only requires 50 for a successful collection. This abundant cell source is also harvested non-invasively and contains cells, like keratinocytes, fibroblast, and hair follicle stem cells (HFSCs) that have the potential to help rejuvenate skin, regrow hair, repair tissues, and even be leveraged in stem cell applications.
Regenerative medicine deals with the process of replacing, engineering or regenerating human cells, tissues or organs to restore or establish normal function. Excitingly, this is already happening in aesthetics with things like PRP. According to the Dermatology times in May 2021, “Regenerative Aesthetic Medicine will significantly impact what we do and how we do it within the next five years.
Banking your own cells means that you won’t have to worry about the adverse immune reactions that could come with using donor cells in the future. Immunosuppressants, which are taken by individuals post donor transplant to prevent the rejection of donor cells, are very expensive and can significantly increase the risks of infection and lead to many other complications, so they are unfeasible in most treatments (especially aesthetic ones).
As we age, so do our cells, and over time they lose their regenerative potential. When it comes to cell treatments (especially for our skin and hair), younger cells can provide younger results. There’s also a risk that if you require regenerative treatments in your time of need, and you don’t have younger cells available, your current cells may be too old and ineffective to be a candidate for the therapy.
While no two people are the same, the average person reaches a peak cellular health in their 20s and then begins an arithmetic decline until their 60s, at which point the pace of aging begins to accelerate considerably. You’re never as young as you will be today, so for most patients, we recommend banking hair follicle stem cells as early as possible.
When treatments that can benefit from your younger banked cells become available, Acorn will ensure they are ready and accessible for any approved treatment.

⦁ Acorn charges a $250 retrieval fee.
⦁ Treatment costs will vary based on the type of procedure and the provider.

Cryopreservation has been successfully preserving biological material for decades. Umbilical cord blood, sperm cells, and egg cells are a few examples of cryopreservation of genetic material. Acorn uses the same freezing process and adds extra steps, like our proprietary transport media and processes, to enable lifelong cell preservation and viability.

Once back at the lab, Acorn performs two rounds of testing to ensure that the cells collected pass viability protocols. If a second collection or ‘top up’ is required to complete your sample you will be notified by email that a top up is required, and this will be completed at no extra cost to you.
DNA tests provide insights into your genetic makeup, which can reveal ancestrial data and some family medical markers and history as well as important aspects about your health. DNA tests do not use live cells, therefore the sample collected in these tests cannot be used in cell therapies. Acorn collects and preserves live cells that can be used in future regenerative treatments.
Research has shown that the cell types stored with Acorn have the potential to promote hair regrowth using regenerative cell treatments. Reintroducing younger cells also has the potential to not only replenish what we lose with age, like hair and collagen but has been shown to influence the surrounding cells to behave younger. As for applications, clinical trials indicate that these regenerative therapies will be applied in similar ways to current aesthetic uses, with topical serums and injectables, as well as the potential for implants and grafts.
