Hormone Replacement Therapy
The Cutting Edge of Hair Restoration
Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is an advanced treatment that leverages new developments in endocrinology to fight hair loss and turn back the clock on your natural hairline. Dr. Ziering was an early proponent of this entirely non-surgical treatment, and today he’s an advisor to Physical Male – our exclusive HRT partner. That’s how deeply he believes in their work.
How Do Hormones Affect Hair?
During the transitional years of menopause and andropause, falling hormones in both men and women can contribute to the shortened growth phase of hair follicles, causing them to shrink until fewer hairs are left visible on the scalp. If your Physical Male doctor determines that hormone replacement is a good course of action, he or she will develop a treatment plan tailored to your age, gender, hair loss severity and other factors.
Is HRT Right for You?
Hormone replacement doesn’t just affect hair. Bringing your body back into a state of optimal hormonal balance can help you look and feel younger. HRT can contribute to an overall sense of wellness, combating everything from fatigue and weight gain to depression, erectile dysfunction, low sex drive, muscle loss, vaginal dryness, hot flashes and more. An improved head of hair is just one of the many benefits offered by this revolutionary science.

About Testosterone Therapy
TRT is geared toward men over the age of 30 who are experiencing the symptoms of testosterone deficiencies and its many negative symptoms. Testosterone replacement therapy supplements testosterone back into the body, so it can reach sufficient levels. A sufficient amount of testosterone allows the body to perform at optimal health, making an individual look and feel younger.
As men age, their bodies start to slow the production of important hormones like testosterone. As these levels recede, men experience the common signs of aging: weight gain, loss of muscle, loss of concentration, fatigue, decreased sex drive, to name a few. Testosterone Replacement Therapy can return testosterone levels to where they need to be.
Originally testosterone replacement was focused on the obvious effects of low testosterone, — muscle loss, low sex drive, etc. Today through much further research in low testosterone, we have discovered it goes way beyond this. Testosterone has a profound effect on keeping the heart and liver healthy, mental functions and much more.
You would start by calling our clinic; we will schedule a consultation appointment for you first. If we determine during your consultation that you are ready to move forward, the next step is scheduling one of our contracted medical technicians to come to your home or office to collect your medical information and blood work. After your health assessment and blood work results are in, we will schedule a follow-up virtual appointment with one of our physicians to review your results.
Physical Male prescribes various types and brands of testosterone. Our physician will determine what type of testosterone would work best for you based on your health assessment and your blood work analysis and results.
No. There must be a medical necessity for treatment. We’re not going to give you treatments to enhance your sports performance or other irresponsible uses of testosterone. We are a group of physicians trying to make your life better by making you healthy. We are not a sports enhancement clinic.
Any medication is going to carry a risk for side effects, but Physical Male’s affiliated physicians have worked to reduce this risk to almost nothing. We follow strict protocols and do regular follow-up appointments and testing.
Dosage sizes are also important in testosterone replacement. Putting too much testosterone into the body could potentially cause some side effects. Our affiliated physicians conduct thorough health exams to pinpoint the right dosages so clients will not have to worry about this. We track and monitor your progress during the course of treatment as well.
The timeline for experiencing results varies between individuals. However, most clients can expect to see changes within the first two weeks. An increase in mental sharpness and more energy are generally the first signs that show the treatment is working.
Within the course of the following weeks, clients will start to see their bodies responding to exercise along with an increased sex drive. Regardless of when the results come, clients will certainly notice a marked difference between their lives before and after TRT.
Testosterone deficiency can present itself in a number of ways. Some of the more common signs are:
- Decreased interest in sex and trouble performing sexually
- Feelings of anxiousness and irritability
- Mood swings
- Memory loss or trouble focusing
- Gaining weight easily
- Lack of energy
- Decline in muscle mass
- Muscle weakness
The decline in hormone levels begins in your mid to late twenties; by 35, any symptoms you’re having should begin to be apparent by then.
Our affiliated physicians take measures to ensure this does not happen. When glands that produce testosterone detect a sufficient level, they tend not to work as hard. Still, testosterone replacement therapy is used on men with testosterone deficiency, meaning their bodies have already slowed the natural production of testosterone. Testosterone Replacement Therapy is a solution, not a potential problem.
Many traditional doctors that refuse to recognize the obvious benefits of Testosterone Replacement Therapy will prescribe medication such as antidepressants to cure one or two symptoms at a time. While this might work to cure a single symptom, it does not do anything to cure the problem as a whole. The only true cure for testosterone deficiency is through Testosterone Replacement Therapy.
Following a consultation that involves health screening, full blood panel and a review of medical history, our affiliated physicians will be able to determine whether hormone replacement therapy is right for you.
It might. Sexual dysfunction can be caused by many things, of which testosterone deficiency might be a cause. Starting TRT will most likely mean an increase in your sex drive (testosterone does that to everyone), and it may solve your sexual dysfunction. However, your experience may be different. That’s why we work closely with each patient and conduct routine follow-ups.
Depending on your health insurance carrier, it may be possible; however, we do not file claims on your behalf. You will be provided with the necessary paperwork to submit to your insurance carrier.
Our Medical Director and most of our physicians have been practicing testosterone replacement for men for 20+ years and are dedicated to helping you reach your personal goal of feeling healthier and younger. Our program allows you to see us on your time: No office visits. No waiting rooms. Confidential and Convenient.
After Ziering Medical schedules your consultation with Physical Male, a licensed Physical Male Medical Assistant will visit you at a date, time and private location of your choice. He or she will collect some basic medical information and a blood sample, and in total, the visit should be less than 30 minutes.
Your confidential information is then processed at a secure lab and a doctor reviews all of your medical information to prepare for your personal telemedicine appointment.
At this point, Physical Male will schedule you for a follow-up telemedicine appointment with the doctor that was personally assigned to you. Together with your personal physical male physician, you will discuss the findings of your health assessment and develop a personal HRT plan.
