Hair Restoration Surgery is not an immediate gratification procedure where you come in with no hair and leave with a full head of hair. That is what a hair system gives you. Hair Restoration surgery is a delayed gratification procedure that takes 4 to 6 months before the newly transplanted hairs begin to grow, and 10 to 15 months before the final result is appreciated. This occurs because the transplanted follicles go into a sort of "hibernation" or dormant phase for several months before starting to grow the new hair. This can be a test of one’s patience, but it adds to the naturalness of the result with the hairs coming in gradually so that it is virtually undetectable by anyone- and sometimes yourself. One will often forget how thin one’s hair is at the time of the procedure and how much change is actually occurring because it is happening so gradually.
We tell patients not to look in the mirror everyday looking for change because it takes time.
Be patient and the hair will grow.
